How to Get to Queens Domain #
From Hobart CBD the Queens Domain is an easy 10-20 minute walk north across Brooker Avenue and along Davey or Macquarie Streets. By bus, Metro Tasmania routes that stop around Salamanca Place or the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery put visitors within a short walk. There is limited on-street parking near Government House and the Botanical Gardens.
Tips for Visiting Queens Domain #
- Enter the Domain from the lawns beside the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery to skip the steepest rises.
- Visit early morning for light on kunanyi/Mount Wellington and quiet walking routes before dog-walkers arrive.
- Follow signed paths if heading to the reserve's remnant native forest; some tracks are slippery after rain.
