Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a public park and sporting district in Stratford, east London, created as the principal site for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The park combines athletic venues, landscaped public space and waterways on a redeveloped industrial area.

Major facilities on site include the London Stadium, the London Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box Arena and the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture and viewing platform. The park contains designed parklands, waterways and cycle and walking routes that link to surrounding neighbourhoods.

The site was redeveloped from former industrial land and railway yards to serve the 2012 Olympics and then adapted into a public-access legacy with mixed commercial, residential and cultural uses. Many venues were reconfigured after the Games for community and professional sporting use.

Located in the Stratford district of the London Borough of Newham, the park lies adjacent to Stratford transport interchange and the large Westfield shopping complex, within east London and with good public transport connections to central London.
