Qixing Mountain (七星山) is the highest peak in Taipei City, located within Yangmingshan National Park. It is a volcanic summit noted for its seven-peaked ridge and panoramic views of the surrounding city and coastline.
The mountain is popular with hikers and day visitors for its accessible trails and summit viewpoints. The main ridge culminates at the principal summit, which offers clear views over northern Taipei on good days.
Geologically it is part of the Datun volcanic group and was formed by volcanic activity. Over time the area has become established as recreational open space and is managed within the national park.
Qixing sits in the northern suburbs of Taipei, within Yangmingshan National Park, north of central Taipei and close to the Beitou district. Trailheads and visitor facilities are reached from the park’s road network and public transport links to Yangmingshan.

How to Get to Qixing Mountain (Taipei) #
From Taipei MRT, take the Wenhu Line to Xinbeitou or the Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Jiantan and change for the Yangmingshan bus (R5) or local shuttles. The R5 bus goes up to Yangmingshan park entrances and trailheads; in high season expect crowded buses and consider starting early.
