Pyhätunturi

Pyhätunturi is a fell and ski destination in Finnish Lapland known for its ski slopes and upland fell environment. The name refers both to the rounded fell and to the built resort facilities on its slopes.

The site combines a developed downhill ski area with marked cross-country tracks and summit trails used in summer for hiking and in winter for skiing and snowshoeing. Facilities include lifts, maintained runs and route signage for visitors.

The fell is part of the broader upland landscape of northern Finland and is associated with protected natural areas that conserve old-growth forest and fell habitat. Over time the area has developed tourist infrastructure while retaining managed trails and conservation zones.

Pyhätunturi is located in Finnish Lapland within the administrative area of Pelkosenniemi and nearby municipalities, in the northern part of Finland above the Arctic Circle. The surrounding landscape is dominated by rounded fells, forest and typical northern boreal terrain.
