Princess Anne’s Battery is an artillery battery on the Rock of Gibraltar. It forms part of the historic fortifications that guard the approaches to Gibraltar.
This battery is one of several named artillery positions on the rock and offers views across the Bay of Gibraltar and the harbour. It is reachable from public walking routes around the rock and is often visited together with nearby fortifications and observation points.
The battery was established as part of Gibraltar’s coastal and harbour defenses under British control and was used to mount coastal artillery. Over time these batteries transitioned from active military roles to heritage features within the Rock of Gibraltar’s fortification system.
Sited on the slopes of the Rock of Gibraltar, it overlooks Gibraltar Harbour and the Bay of Gibraltar and lies among a cluster of named batteries and defensive works on the rock.
