Potiskum is reached almost entirely by road from regional airports or bigger Nigerian cities; air connections are limited and usually require a road transfer. Expect long road journeys and use reputable operators for safety and reliability.
Damaturu Airport (regional): The nearest regional airport serving Yobe State is Damaturu Airport; it offers limited domestic flights to larger Nigerian hubs. From Damaturu to Potiskum the road distance is roughly 60-80 km and takes around 1.5-2.5 hours by road depending on conditions; travel is by shared taxi or private car.
Maiduguri / Kano (major airports): For more frequent national connections travellers often fly into Maiduguri (MIU) or Kano (KAN) and continue by road. Road journeys from these larger airports to Potiskum are long (several hours) and typically require a combination of intercity buses or hired vehicles.
