A small public garden in central London known as Postman’s Park, notable for its early 20th-century memorial to ordinary acts of heroism. The park sits close to St. Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London.
The memorial was initiated by Victorian artist and philanthropist G.F. Watts and the ceramic tablets were installed around 1900 to commemorate acts of self-sacrifice by ordinary citizens. The park itself dates to the 19th century and has been maintained as a public garden since that time.
