Porpoise Bay Provincial Park is a small provincial park on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, located on a sheltered bay of the Strait of Georgia. It is managed by BC Parks and is primarily used for day recreation.

The park offers a sandy shoreline and shallow, calm water that make it popular for paddling, swimming, and picnics. Trails and forested edges provide short walks and shade close to the beach.

The area has been managed as part of British Columbia’s provincial park system to protect a coastal bay and shore for public recreation. Facilities are modest and oriented to day use.

The park sits on the mainland Sunshine Coast opposite Vancouver Island, in the general vicinity of Sechelt and north of the Howe Sound entrance. Access is by coastal roads and local ferries to the Sunshine Coast region.

How to Get to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park #

Porpoise Bay Provincial Park sits on the southern side of the Sechelt Peninsula. From Sechelt town center drive southwest on Sunshine Coast Highway (BC-101) for about 12-18 minutes (roughly 11-15 km) to Porpoise Bay Road; follow signs to the provincial park and campground. There is limited day-use parking close to the main beach and a separate campground access road. The Sunshine Coast is reachable by BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay (Langdale) if driving from Vancouver.
