How to Get to Pļaviņas
Pļaviņas is well connected to Riga by both regional trains and intercity buses; the town has its own station on the Riga-Daugavpils line. For convenience and speed, trains are the most reliable public option; driving provides extra flexibility for riverside exploration.
Riga International Airport (RIX): The main international gateway for central Latvia; Pļaviņas is about 1-1.5 hours by car from Rīga by motorway to the A6/A5 corridor. From the airport you can hire a car, take a taxi or combine bus/train services - taxi transfers typically cost around €40-€70 depending on provider.
Liepāja / Daugavpils regional airports: There are smaller regional airports, but they have limited scheduled services; most international travellers use Riga and continue by road or rail to Pļaviņas.

How to Get Around Pļaviņas #
Pļaviņas is compact and mostly walkable within town limits. For travel beyond the town, regional buses connect to larger centres in the Aizkraukle area - check schedules as they are infrequent off-peak.
