Pico de São Tomé is the highest peak on São Tomé island and therefore the highest point in São Tomé and Príncipe. The summit reaches an elevation of about 2,024 metres.

Hiking routes lead through montane and cloud forest zones to reach the summit area, with steep slopes and changing vegetation noted on approaches. Views from higher elevations can encompass much of the island and, on clear days, the surrounding Gulf of Guinea.

The mountain is volcanic in origin and forms part of the islands created by volcanic activity in the Gulf of Guinea. Human use has been primarily for local purposes and increasingly for guided hiking and nature tourism in recent decades.
