Piazza Bra

Piazza Bra is the largest square in Verona, Veneto, located at the edge of the historic centre and dominated by the Roman Verona Arena. The square functions as the main public space and gateway to Verona’s piazza and cultural life.

The most prominent structure is the Roman amphitheatre, which dates to the 1st century AD and is used for large-scale performances during the summer. The square is also lined by civic buildings including the 19th century Palazzo Barbieri and the Gran Guardia, which together create a mix of ancient and later urban fabric.

Because of its size and the Arena, the piazza is a focal point for visitors and local events and contains cafes, hotels and transport connections. It provides direct pedestrian access into Verona’s historic streets and marketplaces.
