Piața Constituției is a major public square in central Bucharest that faces the Palace of the Parliament. It functions as a primary site for mass events, concerts and national celebrations.

A broad paved area stretches in front of the Palace of the Parliament, providing open space for gatherings, civic ceremonies and large concerts; temporary staging and seating are frequently installed. The square affords close-up views of the palace’s monumental west facade and is a focal point for public events.

The square and the adjacent palace were planned and constructed during the late communist period under Nicolae Ceaușescu as part of a large-scale urban redevelopment; the palace itself remains one of the most prominent and controversial architectural legacies of that era. Since the 1990s the square has been used for public celebrations and commercial events.

Located on the left (western) side of the Palace of the Parliament in central Bucharest, the square sits near the Dâmbovița River and is within walking distance of the city centre and major boulevards.

Piața Constituției sits in front of the Palace of the Parliament in central Bucharest. Take the Bucharest Metro to Piața Unirii (lines M1/M2/M3) and then walk west along Bulevardul Unirii toward the palace - the walk is roughly 10-15 minutes (about 800-1,000 m).

Multiple tram and bus lines run along Bulevardul Unirii and stop close to Piața Constituției, making surface transit options convenient from other parts of the city.

• Use the Piața Constituției metro stop (Metro M2) for the most direct pedestrian approach and to arrive without dealing with event traffic on Constitution Square.
• Check the events calendar before you go-large concerts and national ceremonies frequently close parts of the square, so scheduling your visit on a non-event day avoids crowds and restricted access.
• If you want the full Palace of the Parliament experience, book an official guided tour well in advance (ID/passport required for entry); many visitors only see the exterior and miss the interior tours.
