The park is an important destination for nature-based tourism on the island.
The park was established by the Vietnamese government to protect the island’s ecosystems and to manage both terrestrial and marine resources. Management combines conservation goals with regulated visitor access to sensitive habitats.
Located on Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang province, the park covers large tracts of the island’s interior and northern reaches; the main access points are near the island’s population centers and ports, including the town of Duong Dong.
- Terrestrial and marine protection: the park includes both terrestrial and marine protection zones, so activities range from forest hikes to snorkeling and boat-based trips
