Perdana Putra
Palace Prime minister's office complex with distinctive green dome
Perdana Putra crowns Putrajaya’s government precinct with green domes housing Malaysia’s prime ministerial offices. Tourists photograph its façade from Putrajaya Lake and explore nearby bridges, landscaped parks and official architecture.
Perdana Putra is the main government complex that houses the offices of the Prime Minister of Malaysia in Putrajaya. It is a prominent administrative building within the planned federal administrative capital.
The building presents a large, domed central block with administrative wings and formal landscaping facing Putrajaya Lake; access to interior offices is restricted, but the exterior and surrounding plazas are visible to the public. Photographers and visitors commonly view the complex from the lakeside and neighbouring bridges.
Constructed during the development of Putrajaya in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Perdana Putra was built to centralise federal executive offices within the new administrative capital. Its architectural style combines Malay and Islamic motifs with modern governmental architecture.
Sited on the western shore of Putrajaya Lake in Putrajaya, the complex overlooks the lake and is within the core government district of Malaysia’s administrative centre.
- Function: The complex houses the office of the Prime Minister of Malaysia and several administrative wings, and is a focal point of Putrajaya's government precinct.
