Pengjia Islet
Island Small Taiwanese islet used for weather stations and military
A small rocky islet north of Taiwan, noted for its lighthouse and restricted access; occasionally visited by researchers and maritime crews rather than casual tourists.
Pengjia Islet, also known as Pengjia Yu, is a small islet in the northern waters of Taiwan administered from Keelung. The islet is noted for its lighthouse and for limited habitation or staffing rather than a permanent civilian population.
The islet has served as a navigation reference and has been subject to restricted access because of coastguard or military activity. Facilities on the islet are primarily functional installations related to the lighthouse and maritime monitoring.
Historically the islet has been maintained for navigational purposes and to assert maritime administration. It is not developed for tourism and landing is controlled by Taiwanese authorities.
Pengjia Islet lies off the northern coast of Taiwan in the East China Sea and is administered as part of Keelung municipality.
