Parc des Bastions

Parc des Bastions is a central urban park in Geneva that combines landscaped promenades, monuments and recreational lawns. It is notable for commemorative sculpture and its role as a civic meeting place.

The park includes the prominent Reformation Wall, open green lawns, tree-lined promenades and large outdoor chessboards that attract casual players and passersby. Sculptural busts and plaques honour historical figures and provide focal points across the site.

The park developed in the 19th century on former fortification land and became a landscaped public promenade as the city repurposed its bastions. The Reformation Wall was installed as a major commemorative work in the late 19th century.
