Parc de Diagonal Mar is a contemporary urban park in Barcelona’s Diagonal Mar district, created as part of waterfront redevelopment. The park complements nearby commercial and residential developments with public green space.
Layered lawns, water features, playgrounds and pedestrian routes provide recreational space for families and residents; planted areas are arranged around shallow ponds and hardscape zones. The park connects to nearby seafront promenades and the Diagonal Mar shopping and residential area.
The park was developed during early-21st century urban regeneration of the Diagonal Mar district to provide public open space alongside new housing and commercial projects. Its design reflects contemporary landscape architecture for a dense coastal neighbourhood.
Parc de Diagonal Mar sits in the eastern edge of Barcelona near the coastline and the Diagonal Mar shopping complex, within the city’s newer waterfront districts.
