How to Get to Palikir#
Palikir (the FSM capital) lies on Pohnpei and is most easily reached via Pohnpei International Airport (PNI) near Kolonia. The airport-to-Palikir transfer is short and inexpensive by taxi or shared minibus.
Pohnpei International Airport (PNI): Pohnpei (Kolonia) is served by PNI with international connections (typically via Guam/Chuuk). From PNI it’s a short taxi or shuttle ride to Kolonia and Palikir - journey times are around 10-25 minutes depending on exact destination; taxis and shuttles typically charge in USD and rides to Palikir are roughly US$5-15.
(No other major airports on Pohnpei): PNI is the island’s main air link; there are no other commercial airports on the island.
Train: There are no rail services on Pohnpei.
