Our Lady of Saidnaya Monastery Religious Site

Our Lady of Saidnaya Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery near the town of Saidnaya in the Rif Dimashq Governorate of Syria, traditionally dated to the early Byzantine period. It is an important pilgrimage site in the Levant and houses a venerated icon of the Virgin Mary.

Pilgrims and visitors come to venerate the icon and to visit the monastery’s chapels, cells and chapels carved into the mountain setting. The site offers religious services, devotional spaces and views over the surrounding hills.
