How to Get to Ouidah
Ouidah is easiest reached via Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport (COO) followed by a short road transfer. Overland connections use shared minibuses and taxis from Cotonou's transport hubs.

Ouidah is about 40-50 km west of Cotonou - transfer by taxi or shared minibus is common and takes around 45-75 minutes depending on traffic. Porto‑Novo (no major airport): Porto‑Novo does not have major scheduled flights - most international arrivals use Cotonou and then travel by road to the Atlantique coast.
Train: Benin has no passenger rail service connecting Cotonou and Ouidah.
Bus / Road: Regular bush taxis/shared minibuses (sometimes called gbaka or zémidjan for very short hops) run between Cotonou and Ouidah from the main bus/transport hubs in Cotonou.
