Otsego Lake (New York)

Otsego Lake is a freshwater lake in central New York State, immediately north of the village of Cooperstown in Otsego County. It is best known as the source of the Susquehanna River and as the lake beside Cooperstown’s cultural attractions.

The lake is used for boating, fishing, and lakeside recreation, with marinas and public launch points concentrated near Cooperstown. Sightseeing often combines shoreline walks with visits to nearby museums and historic houses on the lake’s margins.
