Osterley House

Osterley House is a large Georgian country house and park in the London Borough of Hounslow, west of central London, noted for interiors remodelled in the 18th century.

The house displays principal reception rooms and period interiors from its Georgian remodelling, together with exhibitions about the family who lived there. The surrounding park and gardens provide a substantial landscaped setting used for walks and outdoor activities.

The house was remodelled in the mid-18th century by architect Robert Adam for the Child family, wealthy bankers who owned the estate. Later the property passed into public care and today is managed and opened to the public as a preserved historic house and park.

Osterley sits in west London near Isleworth in the London Borough of Hounslow, a short distance from the M4 corridor and within the outer suburbs of the capital.
