Orhei National Park

Orhei National Park is a protected area in central Moldova that conserves a mix of natural limestone gorges and an important archaeological complex known as Orheiul Vechi. The park preserves both cultural heritage and scenic river valley landscapes.

The Orheiul Vechi area contains settlement layers and religious sites from medieval and later periods; the cave monasteries date to the medieval era and were used and maintained over successive centuries. The area has been recognised for its combined cultural and natural values and protected within a national park framework.

The park lies in central Moldova in Orhei District, encompassing a stretch of the Răut River valley and the Orheiul Vechi complex, and is reached by road from the nearby town of Orhei.
