One Canada Square is the signature tower of the Canary Wharf development in London’s Docklands, completed in 1991. The building rises to 235 metres with 50 storeys and was a defining skyscraper of late 20th-century London redevelopment.
It serves mainly as office space within a large mixed commercial district of towers, pedestrian plazas and transport links, and is notable for its stainless-steel cladding and pyramidal roof. The tower was designed by César Pelli and became an early symbol of Canary Wharf’s transformation into a major financial centre.
Situated on the Isle of Dogs, the building is directly served by Canary Wharf’s underground and DLR stations and sits among other office towers, shopping malls and riverside walkways in east London.
