How to Get to Okanagan Lake #
Okanagan Lake is served by major towns along its shores-Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton. By car from Vancouver, drive east on the Trans‑Canada Highway (Hwy 1) and then south on BC‑97 into the Okanagan; the drive to Kelowna is roughly 4-5 hours (around 390-450 km depending on route). Highway 97 runs along much of the Okanagan Valley and provides direct access to lakefront communities.
Kelowna International Airport (YLW) offers regional flights and is a short drive to the lakefront; local BC Transit and community buses serve beaches and waterfronts with short walks from stops into popular lakeside parks.
