How to Get to Ohangaron#
Ohangaron (Akhangaran) is best reached via Tashkent: fly into Tashkent International Airport (TAS) and continue by regional train, bus, or marshrutka. Road and commuter-rail links between Tashkent and the Angren/Ohangaron corridor are the practical options for most visitors.
Tashkent International Airport (TAS): The capital’s international airport is the main air gateway for Ohangaron (sometimes spelled Akhangaran). From TAS you can take a taxi or marshrutka to Tashkent city, then continue by road to Ohangaron; a taxi from the airport to Ohangaron will take roughly 45-75 minutes depending on traffic and costs around US$10-20 (local som equivalent).
Andijan / Namangan (regional): There are regional airports in the Fergana Valley (e.g., Namangan), but these are not convenient for Ohangaron; travelers normally use Tashkent as the arrival point and proceed by road or rail.
Train: There is rail connectivity in the Tashkent region; local suburban trains and regional services run from Tashkent toward the Angren/Ohangaron corridor. Tashkent’s railway stations (Tashkent Central) have services; travel time to Ohangaron by train is roughly under two hours for regional services depending on the specific connection and schedule.
