Ogmore Castle is a Norman-era ruined fortress located at Ogmore-by-Sea in south Wales, originally established in the 12th century. The remains consist mainly of stone keep fragments, curtain walls and surrounding earthworks.
The castle was founded in the early to mid 12th century as a Norman stronghold and later rebuilt in stone; it passed through medieval noble families and declined into ruin in later centuries. Repairs and conservation have stabilised the visible masonry but the site remains a ruin.
Positioned at the mouth of the River Ogmore near the village of Ogmore-by-Sea, the castle lies on the south Wales coast within easy reach of Bridgend and coastal walking routes.
