Odaesan

Odaesan (Mount Odae) is a mountain and national park area in Gangwon Province, South Korea, forming part of the Taebaek mountain range. It is a protected area known for forested slopes and Buddhist temples.

A mix of natural and cultural attractions including established hiking trails, forest scenery and the historic Woljeongsa temple complex. Trails range from short shrine approaches to longer ridge walks that offer seasonal foliage and winter landscapes.

The mountain has long been associated with Korean Buddhism and temple life; the temple complex within the park has served religious communities for many centuries while the surrounding forests have been managed as protected land in modern times.

Located in central Gangwon Province, Odaesan lies within a mountainous region of northeastern South Korea and is accessed from nearby county towns and regional roads.
