How to Get to Obidos
Óbidos is easiest reached via Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS); Porto is a secondary option. Regional trains and intercity coaches connect the town with Lisbon and nearby Caldas da Rainha, making onward transfers straightforward.
Lisbon Humberto Delgado (LIS): Lisbon is the closest major international airport for Óbidos. From the airport you can take the metro to Sete Rios or Oriente and catch a Rede Expressos coach to Óbidos (about 1h-1h20, typical ticket €6-€8). A taxi or private transfer from LIS to Óbidos takes around 50-75 minutes and costs roughly €70-€100.
Porto Francisco Sá Carneiro (OPO): Porto is a viable alternative if you combine with a drive or train. Driving from Porto to Óbidos takes ~1h15-1h40. Trains and buses from Porto to Caldas da Rainha or Óbidos require a change and typically take 1h30-2h30; coach fares commonly range €8-€15.
