A man-made reservoir in Opole Voivodeship created by damming the Nysa Kłodzka river, located immediately north of the town of Nysa. It functions as a retention reservoir and a regional recreational waterbody.
Shorelines with beaches, boat launches and small marinas provide space for sailing, windsurfing and fishing; several cycling and walking routes run along the reservoir perimeter. Facilities and bathing areas are concentrated near the towns and village access points on the eastern and northern shores.
The lake was formed when a dam was built across the Nysa Kłodzka to control floods and store water, converting a river valley into a reservoir. Since its creation it has been used for water management, local industry supply and outdoor recreation.
Sits just north of the town of Nysa in southwestern Poland, within Opole Voivodeship, roughly a short drive from the town centre and set in a lowland river valley surrounded by agricultural land.
