Nyanga National Park is a protected area in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands that contains the country’s highest point, Mount Nyangani, and montane landscapes. The park is noted for its mountains, waterfalls and temperate forests.
Hiking trails range from short walks to summit routes up Mount Nyangani at 2,592 metres, offering panoramas over highland valleys and waterfalls. The park also features lakes, riverine forests and picnic sites, and is a center for outdoor recreation including trout fishing and walking.
The area was designated for conservation in the early 20th century to protect catchments and scenic highland terrain; infrastructure for visitors and trails expanded over time to support recreation and tourism. Conservation has aimed to preserve montane vegetation and water resources.
Situated in Manicaland Province in eastern Zimbabwe, the park forms part of the Eastern Highlands range and lies on upland terrain that borders Mozambique, accessible from nearby towns in the highlands region.
