Nordsømuseet

Nordsømuseet is a maritime museum on the coast at Hirtshals in Denmark’s North Jutland Region. It interprets the North Seas marine environment and the local fishing and seafaring heritage.

Exhibits include large aquarium displays together with museum halls about commercial fisheries, rescue services, and coastal life; many visitors see both the aquarium and the museum in a single visit. Outdoor exhibits and historic vessels are displayed on the harbourfront near the museum.

The institution was established to document and interpret the marine and maritime history of the North Sea region; it has developed combined aquarium and museum programming to illustrate both natural and cultural topics.

The museum sits on the northern Jutland coast at Hirtshals, adjacent to the towns harbour and ferry terminals, and is accessible from the surrounding North Jutland area.
