Nordby (on Fanø) is reached via Esbjerg - travel to Esbjerg by train or road, then take the short ferry from Esbjerg harbour to Nordby. Billund is the nearest major airport; Esbjerg provides the closest rail and harbour connections.
Billund Airport (BLL): Billund is the nearest international airport with wide connections; from Billund to Fanø/ Nordby you’ll typically travel by bus or car to Esbjerg and then catch the ferry to Nordby. Total travel time Billund → Esbjerg ~45-60 minutes by car or bus; then Esbjerg → Nordby ferry ~12-20 minutes. Taxi or transfers from Billund to Esbjerg cost roughly DKK 400-700 (approx.); buses are much cheaper (see below).
