Tips for Visiting Nevado del Tolima #

  • Nevado del Tolima sits within Los Nevados National Natural Park-check park regulations, obtain any required ascent permits, and hire a certified mountain guide familiar with the park routes.
  • Plan climbs for the park's drier windows (consult local guides-commonly the clearer months) and allow at least a day or two to acclimatize in nearby towns such as Ibagué before attempting high camps.
  • Confirm glacier and volcanic conditions with Parques Nacionales or local guiding companies before departure; weather and snow/ice conditions can change rapidly at 5,000+ m elevations.

Best Time to Visit Nevado del Tolima #
