By car follow signs for Potsdamer Platz / Kulturforum and use nearby public parking; the site is in central Berlin beside the Tiergarten.

• Arrive around opening time or late afternoon on weekdays to view both the Mies van der Rohe pavilion and the permanent collection with fewer visitors; the building's light and shadow are best in low sun.
• Use Potsdamer Platz public-transport connections and approach the Kulturforum side entrance to avoid the busiest tourist flows from central Berlin.
• Spend a few minutes outside studying the museum's plaza and elevated reflecting pools-visitors focused on the galleries often miss the architectural composition and how the interior relates to its exterior plaza.
