Nchelenge (Luapula) is primarily reached by road from nearby regional airports (Mansa) or by bus from provincial centres. Expect long, sometimes rough road journeys in this lakeshore region.
Mansa Airport (MNS): Mansa is the nearest airport offering scheduled domestic flights to the Luapula region; from Mansa the drive to Nchelenge is several hours on regional roads and will typically require a taxi or hired vehicle.
Ndola / Mufulira (Zambia Copperbelt airports): For more frequent flights, travellers sometimes fly into Ndola or Mufulira and continue by road; expect multi‑hour drives from the Copperbelt to Nchelenge.
Train: There is no regular passenger rail service directly serving Nchelenge. Zambia’s passenger rail network does not provide convenient access to the town.
