Navarre Beach, Florida

Navarre Beach is a barrier island and unincorporated community on Florida’s Gulf Coast in Santa Rosa County, in the northwestern part of the Florida Panhandle. It is known primarily as a beach destination with shoreline on the Gulf of Mexico.

Sandy beaches facing the Gulf and shoreline along the Santa Rosa Sound are the main draws. A long public fishing pier provides fishing, wildlife viewing, and Gulf views; nearby beach access points and parking are concentrated where the community is developed. Recreational activities include swimming, sunbathing, shore fishing, and small-boat access to the sound.

The area developed as a coastal residential and recreational community during the 20th century, expanding as road connections and tourism facilities were added. Over time local services and public beach access points were established to support seasonal visitors and residents.

The island sits on Florida’s Emerald Coast between Pensacola and Destin in the western Panhandle, within Santa Rosa County. It lies along the Gulf of Mexico with the community separated from the mainland by Santa Rosa Sound.
