Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt

The Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt is a large early 20th-century Russian Orthodox cathedral on Kotlin Island dedicated to Saint Nicholas and to sailors who died at sea. It is one of the principal ecclesiastical monuments associated with the Imperial Russian navy.

Visitors encounter a monumental exterior with prominent domes and a large central nave; the interior is noted for religious iconography and memorials to naval servicemen. The cathedral remains a focal point for religious services and commemorative events linked to Russia’s maritime history.
