The Smithsonian National Zoological Park (National Zoo) is in northwest Washington, D.C. Take the Metrorail Red Line to Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan station; the zoo entrance is a roughly 5-10 minute walk from that station. The zoo is also reachable by DC Metrobus routes that serve Wisconsin Avenue and Connecticut Avenue.
By car from downtown Washington, DC it’s about 2-4 miles northwest via Connecticut Avenue NW; street parking near the zoo is limited and the zoo recommends using Metro when possible.
