The complex contains a large main bowl, spectator facilities, corporate and media areas, and adjacent training and practice grounds that support international cricket and major events. Its scale and modern amenities aim to host multi-day international matches, large tournaments and non-sporting events.
The ground occupies a large sports campus in the Motera neighbourhood on the northwest edge of Ahmedabad and is operated by the Gujarat Cricket Association.
