Namak Lake is a saline, endorheic lake in Qom province in central Iran, characterised by exposed salt flats and seasonal shallow water. It is the regional salt pan for the surrounding semi-arid plain.
As a lesser-known natural landmark, the site presents broad white salt crusts and an expanse of flat, reflective surfaces when wet, typical of playa lakes in arid interiors. There are limited visitor facilities and the area is mainly visited for its stark landscape and salt-bearing ground.
The lake is a terminal basin formed by evaporation of inflowing water; its extent and surface conditions change with seasonal rainfall and long-term climate variations. Local use has historically focused on salt collection and grazing on peripheral plains where conditions permit.
