Nakki Lake

Nakki Lake is the principal lake in the hill station of Mount Abu in Rajasthan, India, and it occupies a central place in the town’s layout and visitor activity. The lake and its immediate promenade are the focal point for boating, short walks, and lakeside viewpoints.

Visitors use the promenade for boat rides and short circuits around the lake, and nearby attractions include rock formations and lakeside ghats. The lake area is compact and typically experienced on foot; evenings and early mornings are the busiest times for views and photography.

Local tradition links the lake with several historical and symbolic events; in 1948 a ceremonial immersion of ashes for Mahatma Gandhi took place at the lake, and ghats and memorial spots close to the water commemorate that event. The lake has long been integrated into Mount Abu’s recreational and ceremonial life.

• Boating promenade: A lakeside promenade and boating area offering pedal and row boat hire and short leisure circuits used by visitors and local families.
