The Museum of Mosaics in Devnya, Bulgaria, is an archaeological museum that displays in situ and moved mosaic pavements and architectural fragments from Roman and early Byzantine sites near Devnya. The site presents decorative floor mosaics with geometric and figural motifs.
Large mosaic panels are displayed in gallery spaces that allow close viewing of tessellated floors and motifs; accompanying labels and finds contextualize the pieces within local Roman-era settlements. The collection illustrates mosaic art and building decoration from late antiquity in the region.
The mosaics and associated artifacts were recovered during archaeological excavations of Roman and late-antique settlements near Devnya; the museum was created to conserve and present these finds. Over time the institution has arranged the mosaics for public display and study.
The museum is in the town of Devnya in northeastern Bulgaria, within Varna Province, near archaeological sites that produced the displayed mosaics.
