The Museum of Flight is a large aerospace museum located at Boeing Field (King County International Airport) in south Seattle. It preserves and displays a substantial collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft and offers educational programming.

Exhibits include a mix of large aircraft displayed in hangar spaces, interactive galleries about flight and space, and the original Boeing “Red Barn” factory building. Founded as a museum dedicated to aviation history, it has grown its collection and exhibition space over decades to document commercial, military, and spaceflight developments. The site preserves early Boeing history through the Red Barn and other artifacts.

The museum campus sits on the south side of Seattle at Boeing Field, close to the Seattle neighborhoods of Georgetown and Beacon Hill and served by major arterial roads to the city center.

The Museum of Flight is located adjacent to Boeing Field (King County International Airport) in southern Seattle. By car it’s reached from downtown Seattle via I‑5 south to the exits for the airport area, then follow local signage to the museum; the drive is roughly 6-10 miles south of downtown (around 15-25 minutes depending on traffic). On‑site parking is available.

King County Metro buses serve the museum area from parts of Seattle and the airport-check current Metro routes and schedules for the most direct bus connections.

• Arrive early on weekdays when the museum is quieter and schools are less likely to be in the galleries, giving better access to popular aircraft and exhibits.
• Allow at least 2-3 hours so you can see the indoor galleries and the outdoor aircraft park; prioritize the Red Barn/Boeing history displays if you're short on time.
