Mount Ibuki is a mountain on the border of Shiga and Gifu prefectures in central Japan, with a summit elevation of 1,377 metres. It is the highest point in Shiga Prefecture and a well known local landmark.
The peak has been noted in local geography and folklore and has long been a destination for local recreation. Infrastructure such as a ski area and access roads has increased visitor numbers seasonally.
Mount Ibuki sits on the geographic boundary between Shiga and Gifu prefectures, rising above the surrounding lowlands and visible from a wide area of central Honshu.

- Use the Shirakawa or climb routes from the parking at Ominato for the clearest ascent routes.
- Mid-May brings alpine flowers - a narrow bloom window that photographers prize.
- Try the local spring water at the karst sinks near the base; one of the area's quirks is an old mineral spring many locals still visit.
