Mount Harif is a mountain in Israel’s Southern District occupying a ridge in the Negev desert near the border with Egypt. It is a notable high point in the immediate border region and is visible from surrounding desert terrain.
The area around the mountain includes desert plateaus and ridgelines; the site is visited for its panoramic desert views and as a geographic landmark on the southern frontier. Access is by regional roads and requires attention to local regulations in border-adjacent areas.
Historically the ridge and surrounding area have had strategic significance because of their elevation and border location; more recently the site is known as part of the Negev’s rugged landscape used for limited recreation and study.
