Mount Edith Cavell

Mount Edith Cavell is a mountain in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada, noted for its steep north face and the Angel Glacier. It is one of the park’s most photographed peaks.

Marked trails and short boardwalks lead to viewpoints offering direct views of the glacier and the mountain’s cliffs, accessible as day hikes from the roadside trailhead. The site includes a series of interpretive signs and viewing platforms that concentrate visitor traffic in a compact area for safe glacier viewing.

Named in the early 20th century for British nurse Edith Cavell, the mountain and surrounding features were incorporated into Jasper National Park as part of the national park system. The Angel Glacier has been monitored over time and has shown signs of retreat.
