Mount Atago (Atago-yama) is a mountain in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, rising to about 924 metres and forming a prominent high point northwest of Kyoto city. The summit is home to a well-known Shinto shrine that has long cultural significance.
Trails of varying steepness lead to the summit and the shrine, attracting day hikers and pilgrimages; the route includes forested sections and exposed ridgelines. On clear days the summit provides wide views over Kyoto and surrounding ranges.
