How to Get to Morija
Morija is a historic town south‑east of Maseru that's easiest reached by road. Most visitors arrive via Moshoeshoe I International (MSU) in Maseru or cross from South Africa, then use minibuses, taxis or private transfers for the 40-75 minute road journey to Morija.
Moshoeshoe I International (MSU): The international airport serving Maseru is the main aviation gateway for Lesotho. From Maseru to Morija the drive is about 45-75 minutes depending on traffic; taxis and private transfers are common - expect modest fares in local currency (Lesotho loti / South African rand).
Bloemfontein / Durban / Johannesburg (South Africa): Many international travellers fly into South African airports (especially Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, JNB) and then transfer by road or regional flight into Lesotho. Road transfers from Maseru or other border crossings are the usual route to Morija.
Train: There is no passenger rail service into Morija.
Bus / taxi: Intercity minibuses (combis) and taxis connect Maseru and Morija; buses depart Maseru’s taxi ranks and take around 45-75 minutes depending on route and stops. Frequency can be limited, especially outside daytime hours, so plan accordingly.
