Montaña Clara is a small, uninhabited islet in the Canary Islands and forms part of the Chinijo Archipelago off the north coast of Lanzarote. It is managed for conservation and has no permanent population or visitor facilities.
The island’s main interest is its seabird colonies and coastal habitats; landings are restricted and visits are infrequent. There are no developed beaches or services for tourists on the islet.
As a natural feature it has been left largely undisturbed and is governed under Canary Islands conservation regulations. Human impact is limited compared with the main inhabited islands.
The islet lies northwest of Lanzarote in the eastern Canary archipelago, within Spanish territorial waters and administered from the province of Las Palmas. The nearest inhabited island is Lanzarote.
